I have a request for a small cake with minimum cream, butter and sugar. The first thing that came into my mind is Durian swiss roll. Why swiss roll?? First, its not a simple cake to master. I have tried and tested many recipes to get it right. Second, this recipe I am using, does not requires any artificial addictives (i.e no baking powder or soda and etc) and requires minimum sugar and butter. Third, it does not requires slabs of whipped or butter cream to decorate, as it looks good as it is. But why "a cake with character"? Well, the filling needs an acquired tasted to appreciate it, and its 100% fresh durian pulp. Its either you love or hate it. In addition, the sweetness from the fruit enhance the cake naturally.
